I hope this finds you doing well :)

Woah, the heat! Am I right? Here in Manitoba, it has been 30+ degrees (I am actually missing winter). This hot and very dry weather has caused some serious damage to parts of the prairies. Fires blazing in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Colombia. It's been said that many of the fires may continue burning up to the first snowfall! We have seen some effects from the fires here, like smoke filled skies which brings on poor air quality. And as of yesterday, many troops, including Mark, were called in and quickly sent to Sask. to help out.

With all this being said, I hope that those of you who read this take a moment to pray for those who have had to leave their homes and those who are out fighting the blazes that are engulfing many parts of this country.

July is in full-swing now and I could not be happier!

This has always been a big month for me in the birthday-department. One of those being Mark's birthday, July 8th. And he is turning the big 2-5 (old man)! 

Crazy to think I met this goofy guy when he was just a little 19 year old, haha (I'm old, too..)!

Along with the exciting birthday celebrations (there are about 26354749 more birthdays in my family), we are going to be heading back to the East Coast at the end of the month! It's been a long 6 months without that crisp ocean air and we are anxiously counting down the days (20 days!) until we are back on The Rock.

This summer is going to be one for the books. I am looking forward to what adventures we get into, obstacles we encounter, and memories that we are going to make.

Today, we come together not as Nova Scotians, Newfoundlanders, East Coast or West. 

We come together as Canadians! 

We come together as a family to celebrate our love and appreciation for this great nation that we are blessed to call our home. 

I am so proud and blessed to be a Canadian.

Summer Breeze.

The days are growing longer and the heat is almost to the point of unbearable. There are no corners to which one can find a cool spot to rest in Manitoba. But, the (few) trees are full, the flowers have bloomed, the construction has started (it cannot it escaped!) and the farmers have been busy tending to their crops. 

The sound of laughter flows through the open windows that catch the summer breeze. 

The season of endless opportunities; of staying up late and catching up with friends; of short-lived loves that will be unforgettable.

The season of timeless memories.
