To New Adventures.

We woke up before the sun and hit the open road to Winnipeg.
Today was the day that my big brother (one of two), Hudson, started his journey to Nunavut!
We were lucky enough to catch him on his way up there and spent a few hours entertaining him and removing him from the reality that lies ahead.
He left his girlfriend and their two children this morning for an opportunity that will bring them all better and brighter lives in just a few short months.
For us Woodworth's (my maiden name), leaving the comfort and familiarity of the Annapolis Valley is not an easy task. So, the fact that he is not only leaving the place that he knows so well but also his family for a few months is a brave move.

Here's hoping he loves it and that time flies for both him and his family!

He is risen!

Happy Easter, everyone!
And Happy Sunday to those who do not celebrate :)

No one took His life from Him.
He laid it down (John 10:18).
He laid His life down for His flock, His people.
And He laid it down only to take it up again.

Good Friday.

"Forgive me,
I am here for the wrongs I have done,
but You have done nothing.
Please,
remember me when You pass from
this place into Your waiting
kingdom"

- Paraphrased from Luke 23:39-43 -

Big Magic.

"But surely something wonderful is sheltered inside you.
I say this with all confidence, because I happen to believe we are all walking repositories of buried treasure.

The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them.
The hunt to uncover those jewels - that's creative living.

The often surprising results of that hunt - that's what I call Big Magic."

Downtown Love Story.

Any sign of warm weather brings the Winter hermits to the streets. All of the snow is gone and the sun is finally doing it's job of keeping us warm. Mark and I do not spend as much time in the "city" (more like a very large town) but yesterday we decided to take a walk downtown. Like most places that we have been, the downtown areas have all seen better days. I am from the small town of Kentville, Nova Scotia, and our downtown looks similar to Brandon's (but much smaller and more run-down). And with that similarity brings a feeling of connectedness. I feel like I am home. Like I belong. And when I leave, I feel a sadness.

When we moved to the area in 2014, I was excited! But that excitement quickly died and I become depressed and angry. Angry that there is no ocean to drive to, that the people I pass are strangers, and that we have no family near by. It was rough. But every trip into Brandon, I made it a point to drive through the downtown streets. To basque in the memory of home in my new home.

Now, I enjoy the anonymity of walking by people whom I do not know. I can be whomever it is I wish to be and not someone who people think they know just because they know my name. It is an empowering feeling and the city Brandon has granted me this opportunity. This is why I love Brandon.

There will be a day where we must pack our belongings and close this chapter, but I will always be grateful to this place for allowing me to just be.

Light of life.

The Lord has been pretty grand!
He has finally given Southern Manitoba a glimpse of Spring.
It's beautiful, warm, and full of puddles, haha!
With Spring comes longer days and beautiful morning and evening skies.
The sunsets here always amaze me.
To me, they are like a way of God saying how much He loves us.
They are a way of ending our day with a smile, a moment of awe
Everyone on the planet will basque in a beautiful sunset.
They are something that we share a love and appreciation for.
They remind me of one of my favourite passages, John 8:12:

I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.

Am I the only one that gets this "deep" when they see a sunset?

Cheesy Pizza Sticks.

I browse through Pinterest on the daily for home ideas, photo ideas and, of course, food ideas.

That is how I came across the cheesy pizza sticks. This is such a delicious and super simple recipe! It is perfect for the pizza lovers and for those who are looking for a quick meal to make for the family.

All you need is:
Pillsbury Pizza Dough
Cheese Sticks
Pepperoni
2 Tbs of Butter
Dried Parsley
Garlic Power

You can definitely make these a little fancier if you'd like and add or subtract whatever you please.

Let me know if you give a try!

Thanks to be God.

And just like that, we are into the third month of 2016.
February was a month full of faith.
I grew even closer to God by reading His incredible story, praying each day and realizing what He has blessed me with in my 24 years of life. It is so incredible to feel loved by Him and to finally start loving Him as much in return.

Each day is brighter, my heart is fuller, and I am over-joyed in every moment I am alive!
I have never looked forward to the month of March - it's in the way of my birthday month, April - but this year is different.
I now look at March as 31 more days that I get to grow my relationship with the Lord.
To discover more about Him and about myself!

What is something that you are looking forward to this March?

"He gives exactly what you need when you need it.
Daily bread, not a lifetime's worth. Today's portion, not tomorrow's.
Thanks to be God."
